In Reading Workshopwe will be focusing on nonfiction text features for the month of  November and December.

During Guided Reading, all students will be assessed to get an accurate independent and instructional reading level. After all students have his or her levels, they will be grouped into guided reading groups. For guided reading, we will use Journey's Guided Reading program. Students will focus on reading text and applying reading strategies at his or her instructional level. We use the same text and vocabulary words for one week. On Friday, students will be given a vocabulary quiz and a cold read assessment based on the reading skill we have been practicing in class.

In Writing Workshop, we are now moving into sensory details in our writing.

In Social Studieswe will be focusing on map skills, and then move onto oceans, continents, New Jersey, Early Explorers, Lenape Indians, and Colonial America .

In Science, we completed our first unit on the Birth of Rocks. We are moving to Social Studies for November and December,
