Riverside High School offers a comprehensive program of study for students in grades nine through twelve.

Riverside High School requires each student to have 130 credits in order to graduate. Every student must take and demonstrate proficiencies in all the courses listed and for the time indicated: four years of English and health and physical education; three years of mathematics and science; two years of U.S. History and two years of a foreign language; one year of World History, fine or performing arts, a practical art, and computer applications/careers. The students also have a variety of electives to choose from in order to fulfill their graduation requirement.

Riverside High School offers Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC). Students receive credit when enrolled in one of four levels of leadership training. The curriculum allows students to perform community service projects, gain valuable responsibility and leadership experience and learn good citizenship. The JROTC has received numerous awards in regional drill and raider competitions. We have approximately thirty-three percent of our student body in JROTC.

Riverside High School offers a variety of services for the student body. We have a full-time child study team, tutoring programs, counseling, and health services. With all of Riverside’s students attending the same facility, we offer programs such as Early Childhood Development and Teacher Cadet to provide high school students with the opportunity to work with elementary students.

Our freshman and sophomore students are administered the S-test. The junior class takes the HSPA. We encourage all of our students to take the SAT and the PSAT. The class of 2008 earned over $900,000 in scholarships and awards with 84 percent planning to further their education.

Riverside students participate in a variety of extra and co-curricular activities. The following are examples of some of the activities: Future Teachers of America, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Chorus, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), the Media Club and thirteen varsity sports. Our vocal students have participated in All-State Chorus and our Marching Band and Jazz Band have participated in state and regional competitions. Our students write and edit our school newspaper and yearbook. Our students also compete in various academic challenges.

The JROTC program received recognition as Honor Unit with Distinction this past year. Our student body continues to participate in service projects that assist the needy families of the Riverside and Delanco communities. Student Government continues to earn Honor School status from the New Jersey Association of Student Councils and the Standard of Excellence award from the New Jersey State Board of Education.

The Riverside Administration believes that the school district and the community must work together in order to provide a quality education for all of its students. Parents and the community are welcomed and encouraged to take part in our programs. The Ram Booster Club, Music Boosters, and the Parent Advisory Committee meet throughout the year to address school and community concerns and assist the high school in meeting the needs of all our students. We offer an annual orientation day, Back to School night, and Parent/Teacher Conferences to familiarize the community with the school’s programs.

Our athletic programs are very competitive. Our students work extremely hard and make the community of Riverside very proud.
